Wrong pedal! Car crashes into Lake Country pet store
Published on April 17, 2023 by David Wylie
A car crashed through the front door of a Lake Country pet store over the weekend.
Police say a driver accidentally pressed the gas pedal instead of the brake pedal just after noon on Saturday, sending the Mazda CX5 through the front door of Bosley’s on Main Street.
Nobody was injured in the crash.
When Lake Country RCMP and the Lake Country Fire Department arrived, the driver of the vehicle had already backed out of the store and was waiting for police.
“After speaking with the driver of the vehicle, RCMP can confirm that the driver accidentally pressed the gas pedal rather than the brake pedal,” says Const. Mike Della-Paolera.
“The acceleration forced the car to hop the curb and strike the door causing extensive damage. We are extremely thankful no one was injured.”
The crash caused extensive damage and glass was thrown in several directions inside the building.
Bosley’s was evacuated due to a concern the doors might collapse.
The vehicle was towed from the area.
Police say they will not be forwarding charges in this incident.
