Tanya Garost has resigned as District of Lake Country CAO, effective Aug. 31.

Lake Country’s chief administrative officer is leaving for a job in Saskatchewan.

Tanya Garost’s resignation is effective at the end of August.

“We are grateful to Tanya for her exceptional leadership at the District of Lake Country” says Mayor Blair Ireland. “We wish her all the best in her new role as city manager with the City of Martensville, Sask.”

The district says a search is now underway for a new CAO, and in the meantime, an interim CAO will be appointed.

Garost, who had previously been chief financial officer and deputy CAO, was appointed CAO April 1, 2021.

She was paid a salary of about $200,000.

The previous top bureaucrat, Alberto De Feo, retired after more than a decade in the position.
