COVID-19 exposures at Lake Country schools

There are COVID-19 exposures at two Lake Country schools — George Elliot Secondary School and Peter Greer Elementary School.
The exposure at GESS was on Feb. 22-26. The person is now self-isolating at home.
“To ensure personal privacy rights are maintained, we will not be providing additional details,” says the school district.
Meanwhile, someone from Peter Greer also tested positive for COVID-19. The exposure period at the elementary school is also Feb. 22-26. That person is self-isolating at home, and no further details are being released.
Interior Health Authority is doing contact tracing in both cases and is working to determine if anyone in either school community was in contact with those who tested positive while they were potentially infectious.
“Students should continue to come to school while contact tracing is underway. As a reminder, please continue daily health checks to monitor your child for illness,” says the district.
