Planned water outage in Oyama to work on watermain

A water outage is planned in Oyama on June 20 so the District of Lake Country can work on a watermain.
“It is recommended that affected households ensure water is available for personal use during the outage,” says the district.
The shutdown is expected to last from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. while crews work at Todd Road/East Hill Road North and the south end of East Hill Road North.
There will be potable water available free of charge in the parking lot at the Winfield Arena to fill up personal containers if needed.
“When the watermain work is completed and the water is turned on, it is not uncommon for water to be discoloured due to air introduced into the system,” says the district.
It recommends running outside taps and bathtub faucets to flush your internal plumbing once the water is back on.
